Acoustic insulation

Acoustic batts are denser and made to absorb sound. They make bedrooms, bathrooms and shared walls quieter.

What it is

Acoustic insulation is batts fitted inside internal walls and between floors.

In townhouses and units it also goes into the party walls between homes.

When it goes in

New build

Fitted at frame stage alongside the thermal batts. Townhouse and unit party walls and floors often have specific acoustic requirements, and we install to the specification.

Building a new home

Existing home

Possible wherever walls or ceilings are open, which makes it a good addition to a renovation.

Insulating your current home

How we install it

  1. Confirm which walls and floors need acoustic treatment.

  2. Fill each cavity completely, because gaps let sound through.

  3. Work around pipes and cables without leaving voids.

“It also played a big role in sound control between rooms, a critical factor in a childcare setting.”
