Wall insulation

Insulated external walls keep rooms closer to the temperature you set, and acoustic batts in walls cut noise from outside and between rooms.

Wall frame filled with insulation batts on a build site

What it is

Wall insulation is batts fitted into the wall frame between the studs, before the plasterboard goes on.

External walls get thermal batts. Internal walls can take acoustic batts where you want quiet rooms.

When it goes in

New build

Walls are insulated at frame stage, after the wrap, windows and electrical and plumbing rough-in, and before the plasterer arrives.

Building a new home

Existing home

In a finished house, walls can only be batted where they are opened up, for example during a renovation. If your walls are lined, ask us what is practical.

Insulating your current home

How we install it

  1. Confirm the products and ratings on the plans.

  2. Cut batts to fit each bay snugly, around pipes, cables and noggings.

  3. Leave the frame clean and ready for the plasterer.

“They showed up prepared, on schedule, and delivered consistent workmanship across every unit.”
