Wall wrap & sarking

Wall wrap and roof sarking are membranes that keep wind, dust and moisture out of the frame and the roof space, so the insulation behind them can do its job.

What it is

Wall wrap is a breathable membrane fixed over the outside of the wall frame, under the cladding.

Sarking is a membrane laid under the roof tiles or sheets.

When it goes in

New build

Wrap goes on once the frame is up, before windows and cladding. Sarking goes on with the roof.

Building a new home

Existing home

On an existing home, wrap and sarking are fitted when cladding or roofing is replaced, or as part of an extension.

Insulating your current home

How we install it

  1. Fix the membrane to the frame with laps running the right way to shed water.

  2. Tape joins and seal around windows and penetrations.

  3. Leave it ready for the cladder or roofer.
